Re-Automation of Dual Swing Gate with GSM Intercom

This project presented multiple challenges:

1. Non-Compliant Automation: The existing underground hydraulic automation system did not meet current GateSafe safety standards and posed a safety risk.
2. Unsafe Hinges: The hinges were mounted directly onto an old brick wall, which had weakened over time and was not structurally sound for supporting the gates.
3. Improved Access: The property required a reliable intercom system to facilitate secure and convenient access for residents and visitors.
4. Durable Installation: The new system had to ensure long-term functionality and robustness while minimizing disruption to the property’s aesthetic.

The installation process was carried out in several stages:

1. Preparation: The old automation system and unsafe hinges were removed. The brick wall was inspected to ensure no further structural issues would affect the new setup.
2. Post Installation: New steel posts were securely installed behind the brick pillars, providing a solid foundation for the gates.
3. Gate Reinstallation: The dual swing gates were mounted onto the new posts with modern hinges, ensuring smooth and safe operation.
4. Automation Integration: The new above-ground automation system was installed and tested for compliance with GateSafe regulations.
5. GSM Intercom Setup: The intercom system was installed, programmed, and tested to ensure reliable communication and access control.
6. Handover and Training: The property owners were trained on using the automation and GSM intercom system, ensuring they could manage the gates with ease.

1. Removal of Hydraulic Automation: The outdated underground hydraulic automation was dismantled and safely removed from the site.
2. New Post Installation: To create a robust and stable structure, new steel posts were installed behind the existing brick pillars. This repositioned the gates off the old wall, eliminating the structural issues caused by the unsafe hinge setup.
3. Re-Automation: A modern, above-ground automation system was fitted to ensure compliance with GateSafe regulations and to provide reliable operation.
4. GSM Intercom System: A GSM intercom was installed to allow residents to control gate access remotely via their mobile devices, enhancing security and convenience.
5. Enhanced Safety Features: The new automation system included advanced safety sensors to ensure compliance with all safety standards.
